The program by the Federation of Industries of the State of Rio de Janeiro brings together major players with micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises that supply goods and services to the oil, gas, and shipbuilding industries. Meetings with companies from the Petrobras System will take place on January 23 and February 11.
T&B Petroleum/Press Office FirjanThe Federation of Industries of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Firjan) is kicking off 2025 with strong momentum through its Rede de Oportunidades (RdO) program, which supports the local supply industry. The program brings major industry players together with micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises that supply goods and services to the oil, gas, and shipbuilding sectors. After promoting the announcements of the 2050 Strategic Plan and the 2025-2029 Business Plan at the federation's headquarters in November, where Petrobras confirmed investments of US$ 111 billion, the Petrobras System returns to Firjan for two meetings with suppliers to develop the production chain in Rio de Janeiro.
On January 23, Petrobras will present its demands for goods and services with a focus on the subsea segment to local suppliers. Of the US$ 111 billion, the majority will be invested in exploration and production, with Firjan estimating that 67% of the resources, around US$ 74 billion, will be allocated to the state of Rio.
On February 11, Transpetro will present its purchasing expectations for the coming years. In 2025, RdO will also feature anchor companies from the new energy market.

Throughout 2024, the Rede de Oportunidades hosted four editions, bringing together 14 market players: NTS, Foresea, Ocyan, Petrobras, Equinor, Porto do Açu, Braskem, Halliburton, SBM Offshore, NOV, PRIO, Yinson, BW Energy, and TAG. These 14 anchor companies presented over 720 business opportunities.
Strengthening the Local Production Chain
With the demands for goods and services, Firjan SENAI, the organizer of the RdO, identified over 5,300 potential suppliers from Rio de Janeiro and other states. Two of the four events were held at the federation’s headquarters (NTS and Braskem), while the other two were held alongside major events: Macaé Energy 2024 in Northern Rio and ROG.e, Latin America's leading oil and gas fair. A total of over 700 face-to-face meetings were held, where buyers and potential suppliers could engage in productive one-on-one sessions.
"The Rede de Oportunidades program aims to bring anchor companies operating in Rio and across the country to present their business opportunities and purchasing requirements to micro, small, and medium suppliers, who often do not have the chance to engage with large players in the oil and gas market. Before any meeting, Firjan assesses the expectations and needs of buyers and the strengths of each supplier, ensuring that each meeting is truly productive for both sides," said Karine Fragoso, Firjan's General Manager of Oil, Gas, Energy, and Shipbuilding.
To make micro and small companies more competitive and increase their chances of doing business in this market, in 2024 Firjan SENAI formed a partnership with Sebrae/RJ to provide specialized support to SMEs. Last year, of the 690 suppliers that participated in face-to-face meetings, 350 were micro and small businesses. Around 160 of these micro and small enterprises expect to grow their revenues by more than 10% in 2025, thanks to the meetings promoted by RdO.
"Additionally, the network of SENAI Technology and Innovation Institutes in Rio state is capable of developing innovation projects and offering applied technological solutions to help supplier companies qualify and develop their portfolios, making them more productive and capable of meeting the challenges presented by purchasing companies," Karine added.
She also mentioned that in 2024, more than 300 special reports were produced for buyer companies and suppliers associated with the Firjan System, providing customized information to promote business opportunities. Companies interested in participating in RdO should submit their expectations and qualifications via the provided form.
