Spot ethanol prices in the state of São Paulo fell last week, reflecting increased supply.
According to researchers at Cepea, higher stocks in some mills in the state of São Paulo and the fact that some units anticipated the start of sugarcane processing for the 2024/25 season led sellers to accelerate the pace of negotiations, especially involving hydrous ethanol.
From March 4th to 8th, the CEPEAE/SALQ Indicator for this fuel closed at R$ 2.0706/liter (net of ICMS and PIS/Cofins), down 2.43% from the previous period. For anhydrous ethanol, the decline was 1.688%, with the CEPEA/ESALQ Indicator at R$ 2.3596/liter (net of PIS/Cofins).
